Counter Top Remodeling
Is your old countertop showing the signs of all that use and abuse? Stains can easily ruin the most well finished kitchen counter surface, and scratches and nicks are common. Part of a successful kitchen remodel is getting rid of your old and stained counter tops and getting newer ones installed. Your older countertops will look odd if you're planning on changing cabinets and getting new paint. New kitchen countertops will add the finishing touch to your IL area kitchen and add the gleam that's the mark of a good looking kitchen.
Granite is the first choice of home owners when it comes to kitchen countertops and its not hard to se why. As its use has become widespread it has become more affordable and has a reputation for durability and strength. Get your granite countertop sealed to prevent stains. Marble is an elegant choice for kitchen countertop but might be a little expensive. If you can't afford to have marble all around your countertop, consider a marble island kitchen countertop instead. Engineered stone or quartz countertops come in a greater variety of colors than granite and are resistant to nicks and stains. Ceramic tiled kitchen countertops are inexpensive, and are easy to clean. They could however be uneven giving them a less than elegant look and there is always the problem of grout to consider. Wood countertops are expensive but extremely good looking. Chips and scratches are always a problem, and a wood kitchen countertop is not suitable for heavy use.
Remember to take your lifestyle into consideration before you make a decision. Wood and marble are high quality but also high maintenance materials that can take a lot of time and effort to maintain. These are not the right choice if you have large family and cook often. With such a wide range of materials and colors available you're sure to find the kitchen countertop that's right for your home.
